My Fiancé's Betrayal Became His Biggest Regret
Chapter 4
###Chapter 4
The pinned conversation was a group chat named Livestream Group.
[Oliver, after the wedding tomorrow, I want to see something even more exciting. Hahaha.]
[Exactly! With Alessia's figure, I'd gladly pay any amount just to get a look.]
Their filthy, depraved comments filled me with so much hatred that it felt as though every organ in my body was twisting with rage.
Then another message popped up.
Louise had sent several pictures.
I took a closer look. They were screenshots from last night.
She followed them with a message to the group. [I heard Alessia is pregnant with her seventh child. I'm throwing a party at the clubhouse tonight. Come celebrate with me, everyone!]
What could she possibly have planned that was well-intentioned? I didn't even need to think about it.
After taking photos of the messages with my own phone, I received a call from Dad.
"Sweetheart, Patterson Group's biggest supplier will be terminating its partnership with them soon. The partners involved in their core projects will also be withdrawing one after another."
"Anyone who dares lay a finger on you, I'll make sure they lose everything!"
I clenched my teeth and replied, "Okay, Dad. It's about time Patterson Group went bankrupt."
After ending the call, I heard footsteps approaching from outside.
Oliver came over and wrapped his arms around me, resting his chin on top of my head.
"Baby, don't take what my dad said to heart."
"You've finally managed to get pregnant. This time, you need to take good care of yourself and make sure you give birth to a healthy, chubby little baby."
As he spoke, he casually picked up his phone and glanced at it.
"Louise prepared a party to celebrate your pregnancy. See? She's so thoughtful."
A chill ran through my entire body. I shoved him away and intoned coldly, "I'm not feeling well. You can go without me."
Oliver's expression darkened instantly, and his tone turned commanding.
"So many of my friends will be there tonight. If you don't show up, where does that leave me? Alessia, can't you think about me a little more, the way Louise does?"
I stared at him, too stunned to even speak. Suddenly, the past five years of my life seemed like one enormous joke.
In what way had I ever failed to consider his needs?
Forget all the other things I have done. Whenever he worked overtime until midnight and craved a spicy food, I would drive out to deliver it to him even when I had a fever. When he struggled to secure a business deal, I spent three months running around tirelessly to help him, pushing myself so hard that I eventually collapsed in the street.
And that was nothing compared to what happened a year ago, when his enemies came after him for revenge. I had thrown myself in front of him to take a knife wound, nearly losing my life in the process.
Hadn't I done enough for him?
Yet I no longer even had the desire to argue.
Oliver's gaze grew even sharper. "Whatever the case, Louise went to all this trouble out of kindness. You're going whether you like it or not!"
With that, he dragged me out of bed and hauled me straight to his car.
The moment we arrived at the VIP private room at the Patterson Group clubhouse, Louise greeted me with a bright smile.
"Alessia, you made it! I've prepared a special surprise for you tonight. You're going to love it, so make sure you enjoy yourself!"
But when Oliver wasn't looking, the smile vanished from her face. The look she gave me was malicious, her eyes were colder and more venomous than a snake's.
Seven or eight pairs of eyes inside the private room immediately turned toward me. Their gazes were lewd and mocking.
I gritted my teeth and let out a cold laugh. "I don't need it. Keep your little surprise and enjoy it yourself. I'm leaving."
"Don't go, Alessia." Louise grabbed my hand affectionately and leaned close to my ear, lowering her voice to a whisper. "You have no idea how many people want a taste of you. And you want to leave as soon as you get here?"
The lecherous stares surrounding me felt as though they were stripping away my clothes, leaving me exposed with nowhere to hide.
Overwhelmed by humiliation and fury, I couldn't hold back any longer.
"Louise, you shameless bitch!"
Her eyes instantly welled up with tears. Oliver immediately stepped in front of her protectively and glared at me.
"What did Louise ever do to you that you have to insult her like that?!"
Before I could explain myself, Louise spoke through her tears. "Don't be angry, Oliver. Alessia is pregnant, so I understand if she's taking her frustration out on me. I don't mind. Alessia, congratulations in advance on your wedding to Oliver."
Louise picked up a glass of champagne, but Oliver immediately snatched it away.
"Your body is prone to uterine coldness. You're not allowed to drink anything cold."
Then he turned around and shoved the champagne glass into my hand.
"First, you drove Louise overseas. Then you got her fired from her job recently. I let all of that slide. And now, she's sincerely trying to make peace with you, yet you still dare to bully her right in front of me."
"Drink it, then apologize to Louise."
I stared at him in disbelief. "She has a condition that means she can't drink alcohol, but somehow it's fine for me to drink when I'm pregnant?"
Oliver narrowed his eyes. "You ran around everywhere when you were pregnant before, and nothing happened. So why can't you drink now? Stop being so dramatic."
I had been pregnant six times, and every single time, I had continued traveling for his business, entertaining clients, and working overtime to help him.
Yet in his eyes, all of that had become nothing more than my irresponsibly "running around everywhere."
Suppressing the pain rising in my chest, I gritted my teeth and pushed the glass away.
"She was the one who spread rumors and slandered me. Why should I be the one to apologize?"
