Unexpected Pregnancy: The Father of My Child is My Best Friend’s Son!
Chapter 3
I asked Ernest, "What did I say?"
Ernest's lips curled slightly as his dark eyes locked onto mine. "You called me your husband!"
I was speechless.
It didn't look like that to me!
I watched myself on the video throw myself into Ernest's arms, and I almost choked on the water I had just drunk.
Damn it!
What was going on!
How was I the one being all clingy!?
Not only did I throw myself at him, but I also cried!
I was hugging Ernest and crying?
The video had no sound, so I had no idea what was happening at that moment!
When I looked up, I saw the two of us kissing in the video.
Ernest closed the laptop and smiled at me. "The rest of the video is too inappropriate for minors, so let's not watch it."
I was speechless.
"I was drunk and can't remember anything, but you were sober! Why didn't you push me away? And why didn't you tell me right away? Why wait until I was pregnant to tell me the truth?"
I hit Ernest with two critical questions.
"First, you were drugged."
"Second, I was afraid that if you knew, you wouldn't be able to handle it. Even if you forgave me, you'd still distance yourself from me, and that's not what I wanted."
Ernest continued. "But it's not that I didn't want to take responsibility. I've been trying to figure out how to face you these past two months."
I quickly interrupted him. "No, you don't need to take responsibility! I can handle it myself."
I couldn't see myself ending up with him. I couldn't let him take responsibility!
I was 28 and I didn't want to mess up his life!
Ernest's handsome face darkened instantly. "Your way of handling it is to abort my daughter?"
I frowned slightly, suspicious. "How do you know it's a girl? What if it's a boy?"
Ernest said seriously, "I prefer a girl."
I was speechless.
I started to speak to Ernest in a wise, elder tone, explaining the downsides of the situation.
"Ernest, you're only 22, just graduated from college. You don't need to have a child so soon. Besides, my career is at its peak right now and I can't stay home and have a baby for you. And what about when you get married in the future? Having a child already isn't a good thing."
Ernest said, "I want the child!"
I was speechless.
Ernest gritted his teeth and said slowly, "And I want our child!"
Ernest's darkened expression made it seem like he wanted to bite me. I scolded him, "Why are you getting angry so quickly!"
Ernest's face grew even darker as he grabbed my arm, "Amy, you're only six years older than me!"
I shook off Ernest's hand. "You're getting ruder! You used to call me Aunt Amy when you were little!"
I turned to leave, but Ernest blocked my way with his whole body. "You can't abort my child!"
I was speechless and looked up at Ernest. "Ernest, be reasonable! What kind of relationship do we have? Why should I have a baby for you?"
Ernest licked his lips and looked at me with a half-smile. "If we get married, won't that make it a relationship?"
I looked up at him in shock.
His expression and tone were as if he were commenting on the weather being nice today.
