The Ninth Wife of Mr. Foster

Chapter 3

3,716 words

"I just feel sorry for old Robert Reed. He used to brag to us every day about how outstanding his daughter was, but in the end, he fell for money."

"I don't think money matters. The key is that we have to pay attention to the rumors about the Foster family over the years. Now, Robert Reed's two daughters might fall into the hands of the Foster family!"

Everyone in Riverside City thinks I'm a vain, gold-digger.

Especially since I am a female PhD graduate from Ivy League University, the huge contrast makes them even more excited.

Inside the Foster estate, Margaret Foster had someone lead me in.

"Sophia, are you really going to marry my son?"

Margaret Foster looked at me with interest.

“More real than real gold!”

"It is said that Mr. Foster is a gentle and elegant person, friendly and kind to others. The key is that his net worth has exceeded 10 billion some time ago. Why should I not like such a person?"

I smiled at Margaret Foster.

Margaret Foster sneered twice after hearing this.

"I knew you couldn't really like Vincent!"

The disgust in her eyes was palpable.

But I know she has no choice.

"Forget it, I won't beat around the bush with you."

"You haven't forgotten that your sister died in Ancestral Hall eight years ago?"

"During the eight years you were away, every year a bride died tragically in the ancestral hall. What makes you think you can live longer than them?"

Margaret Foster stared at me pointedly.

I smiled slightly.

"Don't worry, Margaret Foster. I am different from those ordinary people. Our ancestors may not like them, but they will definitely like me!"

I stared at Margaret Foster with a haughty look on my face.

The other person looked at me for a long time.

Finally, he nodded and agreed.

"Go back and prepare. Only by surviving tonight can you prove that you are different from others!"

She waved.

I curled the corners of my mouth. It seems that all the truth will be revealed tonight!

When I got home, my parents had been waiting for me for a long time.

"Nonsense! Who made you agree to marry Vincent?!"

My dad was so angry that his face turned red.

My mother was wiping her tears anxiously, and her eyes were full of sadness when she looked at me.

But when I looked at my father, I didn't feel any emotion at all.

"Do you care who I marry?"

I stared into Dad's eyes.

"Nonsense! Why shouldn't I care? Don't you know the rumors about the Foster family over the years? You're courting death if you go there! Are you going to kill me and your mother?"

Dad was eager to scold me to wake me up.

But I just asked him coldly: "If you really cared, you wouldn't have let my sister die unjustly back then!"

Dad shuddered all over and his lips trembled slightly.

"Sophia, don't talk to your dad like that, your dad..."

"Shut up!"

Just as mom was about to speak up for dad, he scolded her harshly.

Then Dad stared at me.

"Okay, since you've made your decision, I won't bother you anymore!"

"From now on, you are no longer my daughter!"

My father kicked me out of the house. Although my mother begged him desperately, my father remained unmoved.

After leaving home, I kowtowed three times and nine times in the direction of my parents.

"Mom and Dad, I am an unfilial daughter."

"If my daughter can find out everything, she will definitely come back to honor you!"

I muttered to myself, then stood up and headed for the alley entrance.

Vincent's wedding procession was even more luxurious than eight years ago, with all of them being Rolls-Royces. Who wouldn't be envious when seeing this?

"It's over. Old Robert Reed's family will be extinct!"

"I have studied for so many years in vain. It seems that this doctorate is of no use at all."
