The Last Gift I Left My Cheating Husband Was My Wedding Ring.

Chapter 3

4,626 words

When Logan saw the name flashing on his phone screen, his expression froze for a brief moment.

From the corner of my eye, I caught a glimpse of the notification.

Only two words appeared.

“Little Secretary.”

Logan quickly turned the phone away.

His fingers moved across the screen naturally, as if he had done this countless times before.

But I still saw it.

The brief flash of excitement in his eyes.

The desire he couldn’t completely hide.

Sure enough, the next second, he turned toward me with a guilty expression.

“Baby.”

“I’m sorry.”

“Tonight is our anniversary. I should have stayed with you the entire night.”

“But the Miranda family’s business…”

I interrupted him before he could finish another excuse.

“I understand.”

“Family business comes first.”

A trace of relief appeared in his eyes.

Normally, before leaving me, he would always kiss my forehead.

But this time, he only gave me a brief hug.

Then he turned and left.

I stood there silently.

Then I called one of the Miranda family guards.

“Help me take care of the guests.”

“I have something else to handle.”

After saying that, I followed the direction Logan had left.

He didn’t stop until he reached the underground parking area beneath the Miranda estate.

The moment the car door opened.

Angela’s professional expression disappeared completely.

She threw herself into Logan’s arms.

Her voice was sweet and full of jealousy.

“Mr. Miranda.”

“The fireworks tonight made me jealous.”

The cold and ruthless heir of the Miranda syndicate softened instantly.

He raised his hand.

Gently tapped her nose.

“Didn’t I arrange a private fireworks show for your birthday a few days ago?”

“What are you jealous of?”

Angela pouted.

“Can’t I still be jealous?”

Logan smiled helplessly.

“I already told you.”

“As long as you don’t expose our relationship to my wife…”

“Everything she has, you can have too.”

My breathing stopped.

Those words pierced through my heart.

Five days ago.

The entire southern district of the city had been covered by a thirty-minute fireworks display.

That night, Logan told me he was dealing with a dangerous negotiation.

I even took a photo of the fireworks and sent it to him.

I joked.

“I wonder which idiot is so obsessed with making someone happy that he would spend so much money on fireworks.”

Now I knew.

That idiot was him.

And the biggest fool…

Was me.

Angela leaned against his chest.

Her fingers slowly traced circles over his shirt.

“Am I not even allowed to be jealous?”

Logan caught her hand.

His voice lowered.

“Didn’t you say you prepared something special for me?”

Angela smiled.

A smile full of temptation.

She grabbed his tie.

Pulled him closer.

“But Mr. Miranda has to open it himself.”

“I promise…”

“You’ll love it.”

The desire in Logan’s eyes became obvious.

The next moment.

He lifted her into his arms.

And carried her into the car.

Angela let out a surprised laugh.

Then the tinted windows slowly closed.

The underground parking lot became silent.

Only the faint movement from inside the car remained.

I stood beside the cold concrete pillar.

Unable to move.

Unable to speak.

The tears I had held back finally fell.

One drop.

Then another.

Hitting the ground.

I had already seen their betrayal yesterday.

I thought I was prepared.

But seeing it again still felt like my heart was being torn apart.

When we first got married.

Logan promised me.

Every anniversary.

Every important day.

He would always spend it with me.

But now.

A single message from Angela was enough for him to abandon everything.

Was he really so obsessed with her?

I closed my eyes.

Forced myself to calm down.

Just three more days.

Three more days.

And everything would end.

I didn’t return to the anniversary banquet.

I went directly back to the Miranda family residence.

That night.

I was barely asleep when a loud sound woke me.

The bedroom door was pushed open.

Logan stood there.

His expression was tense.

The moment he saw me lying on the bed.

His shoulders visibly relaxed.

“Baby.”

“Why didn’t you tell me you came home?”

“Do you know how worried I was when I couldn’t find you at the banquet?”

I looked at my phone.

The time was displayed clearly.

3:00 a.m.

I left the banquet hall at 9:00 p.m.

Six hours.

Six full hours.

He had spent those six hours with Angela.

And only after he was satisfied did he remember that he had a wife waiting for him.

I looked at him quietly.

A strange sense of exhaustion filled my heart.

How ridiculous.

The man who claimed he couldn’t live without me…

Had forgotten where I was for six hours.
