My Wife Cried And Regretted, But It Was Too Late
Chapter 3
She said she liked me and would marry me after graduation.
Her family didn't agree, but she threatened to die if they didn't agree, and finally her family compromised.
We got the marriage certificate in a hurry. My dad had not recovered yet at that time, but he was dragged to the wedding in a hurry. He went back and got an IV drip that night.
When I was with him, he asked me secretly, "Her family is so proud. Will they treat you well? Son, although I'm not capable, I won't condemn you to be a son-in-law who lives in your wife's family's house. If it's because of my illness, you go divorce her tomorrow."
I looked at my dad whose eyes were bloodshot.
I hugged him and said, "Dad, I'm very happy. Although Jessie has a little temper, she is really good to me. Don't worry. Her family may need some time to accept this. After all, we are really not a good match."
He nodded, but from that day on, he treated Jessie as his own daughter.
We had a sweet time after we got married. My grades were not bad and I had a pretty good job, but there was of course a gap between me and Jessie's family, but I was very satisfied.
My dad always told me to keep my feet on the ground and work steadily.
At that time, I had planned everything for our future. With my dad, Jessie, and our lovely children, I felt that God loved me so much.
But that was all broken by Jessie's childhood friend Ron Martin.
As soon as Ron came back, he worked in Jessie's company as president.
Jessie had been gaining experience in the company. As soon as Ron came back, she brought him into the company, saying, "We are too familiar with each other, and his family situation is too complicated. I can't just stand by."
Even their meeting took place in front of me.
Ron added me on Facebook during our first meeting, and from that day on, my relationship with Jessie deteriorated.
I would always remember Ron's somewhat disdainful smile when Jessie introduced us to each other. It turned out that he had other plans since then.
What was even more unacceptable to me was that he gave Jessie two sports cars, and she accepted them.
I was not happy at the time, but I still suppressed my emotions and asked Jessie, "It's not appropriate to accept such an expensive gift, is it?"
I obviously sensed her hesitation, but Ron smiled even more happily, "I have given you all kinds of gifts over the years. How come you are still alienated after getting married? Just consider it as my wedding gift to you. You can't afford to drive a supercar after getting married, can you?"
My face turned cold at that time. It was obvious that he came with bad intentions, but Jessie didn't think there was anything wrong with him.
After we got back, she started getting mad at me, "Alan, it's just a sports car. I can give him a gift afterwards. Why did you have to say such embarrassing things in public? I don't know what people in the circle will say about us in the future. It's as if how poor we are."
She was very merciless in her words, and I was furious that day.
I asked her, "You feel ashamed now? It was you who insisted on marrying me. Now that you are married, you are still so clingy with your childhood friend. Isn't that wrong?"
The sentence completely became the point where Jessie exploded.
She pointed at me and asked, "Alan, you are so dirty. If I was with Ron, I would have nothing to do with you. Look at yourself. What I can gain from you? I have been with you for so many years, and you think so nasty of me. You are a coward, aren't you?"
After saying that, she directly slammed the door and left.
Not long after, I saw Ron post a picture of him and Jessie on his Moments in a bar.
The accompanying text was also very interesting: "Sure enough, I am the only one who understands your loneliness."
