fter my husband ordered a bowl of congee specifically for his assistant, I decisively filed for divorce

Chapter 1

3,772 words

At his daughter’s first birthday party, the husband ordered a separate dish for his assistant.

Without a moment's hesitation, I sent a message to my lawyer friend and asked him to draft a divorce agreement.

Seeing the agreement, Alexander laughed out of anger.

"There were hundreds of dishes at the First Birthday Party, but you only stared at Sophia's dish?"

"Can you please curb your possessiveness?"

"Whatever you say," I said calmly, "I'm going to get a divorce anyway."

When I hurried back to the banquet hall, my husband's assistant took the seat that originally belonged to me.

She was wearing a dress of the same color as Alexander's, and her every move and gesture acted like a hostess.

"Assistant Sophia and the boss look like a perfect match."

"The boss works with Assistant Sophia every day, and they might even live together."

When I heard the company employee's words, my heart felt like it was being gripped by an invisible hand.

Seeing me coming back, Sophia apologized.

"Sister-in-law, it's all my fault that I spilled red wine on your clothes due to my clumsiness."

"You won't blame me?"

Without waiting for my response, Alexander spoke first.

"Don't I know what you are like?"

"Go sit at table number three. I ordered you a bowl of porridge."

Everyone praised Alexander for being considerate towards his colleagues.

"Just now the girl said she had a stomachache, so Mr. Alexander ordered some porridge for her."

"Her feet were rubbed and bleeding, and Alexander always put a band-aid on them for her."

"The lady must be lucky to have such a thoughtful man."

I smiled on the surface, but my nails dug deep into my palms.

Alexander used to hate stupidity more than anyone else.

Sometimes he would get angry and fire his assistant just because he had an extra name tag.

I haven't seen such patience for a long time.

"Today's protagonist is my daughter, please don't talk about me."

Alexander spoke calmly without any explanation.

The First Birthday Party was about to start, and he stopped me from getting up.

"I forgot to tell you, I've already decided on the person to be Mia's godmother."

Without waiting for my reaction, Sophia put up a Protective Locket for Mia.

She placed a kiss on the side of her daughter's face and said, "I will be Mia's mother from now on."

Looking up, the defiance in her eyes was clearly visible.

Keep everything simple.

Alexander suddenly interrupted the process when it was almost over.

"According to the rules, Mia should give Sophia the Bow to become her godmother today."

“Bow?” I frowned. “Mia is only one year old. Bow is prone to choking and brain damage.”

"Can you please think before you speak?"

Alexander said in a bad tone, "Is it because Mia can't do it, or are you still skeptical about the choice of Mia's godmother?!"

"Okay, Mr. Alexander, I've already sent the Protective Locket, so the ceremony is complete."

Sophia interrupted our quarrel, and the man who had been arguing with me just a second ago immediately calmed down.

"Can I send a few words of blessing to Mia?"

With Alexander's tacit gaze, the microphone was placed in Sophia's hands.

I glanced across the table, and the wine glass with some red wine remaining on it was particularly eye-catching.

Sophia smiled.

"I heard Mia was a test-tube baby."

"Now that I look closely, it really lacks some human touch."

"Test tube babies must be very delicate. Thank you sister-in-law for taking care of them."

"Oh, by the way, Mia knows that she is from the laboratory..."

There was a crisp sound.

I walked off the stage and slapped Sophia in the face.

I hit her head and it tilted, and tears welled up in her eyes.

Another crisp sound.

Alexander said coldly, "This is returned to you on behalf of Sophia."
