After My Mother-in-law Died, I Said Goodbye to the Wrong Marriage
Chapter 2
My indifference made Adam so angry that his chest heaved violently.
He picked up a pen in exasperation and signed the agreement.
However, he exerted too much force, and the pen almost broke the agreement.
"Lora, you'd better be serious! If you insist on divorcing me, don't regret it later! Besides, don't push the blame onto me with my mother..."
"Alright!"
I really wanted to tell him that his mother had already paid with her life for his mistake.
Adam was stunned. My attitude was not within his expectations.
He must have prepared a lot of accusations against me, but unfortunately, I didn't give him a chance to show them off.
After waiting for a long time, when Adam saw that I refused to back down, he looked me up and down with a depressed expression.
"You're so confident. Are you really pregnant?"
My heart skipped a beat. I was actually looking forward to what would happen if Adam found out that I was pregnant.
"Since you want a divorce, even if you really have a baby, abort it as soon as possible! I don't want you to keep pestering me!"
My heart sank to the bottom in an instant, and it was badly hurt.
I frowned and looked at him. I didn't understand why he had the nerve to think that I would keep the baby to keep pestering him.
"Don't worry, I'll divorce you and have an abortion according to your mother's last words. I've always listened to her..."
Adam threw the pen hard at me.
"Enough! Aren't you disgusting? My mother has treated you well. Will you stop being a bitch as to curse her for no reason?"
My hands couldn't help trembling.
As a result, I failed to control myself and slapped Adam in the face.
"This slap is for your mother! If you were my son, I would beat you to death, bastard!"
Adam covered his face in disbelief.
"Lora, are you crazy?"
The pain in my belly forced me to put down my trembling hand.
"After the formalities are completed tomorrow, I'll pack up and leave."
Adam got furious again.
"You want to move out? What about my mom?"
Lucy once said that if Adam and I really got divorced, she would definitely go with me.
The two of us could raise my baby together.
"I've already sent Lucy away. You don't have to worry about it!"
Adam grabbed me with a freaked-out look.
"My mother is aged. Why are you torturing her again? Or are you coaxing her to play along and threaten me?"
Adam was afraid that if I took my mother-in-law away, he wouldn't have a free nanny.
The man in front of me was so hypocritical that I wanted to vomit.
"How dare you mention her?"
I took out my phone and wanted to ask him why he blocked me and why he ignored my calls and messages.
Adam was a top surgeon. If he was willing to go to the scene for first aid as soon as possible, Lucy would've been rescued.
Lucy was hit at the entrance of the club.
However, Adam didn't believe that something had happened to his mother.
Just as he didn't believe that I was really pregnant.
When the abdominal pain attacked me again, I couldn't bother to waste my time on Adam. I pressed the death certificate tightly in my bag.
"See you at the City Court at eight o'clock tomorrow."
"You just can't wait, can you?"
I didn't understand what Adam meant.
He had already signed the divorce agreement. Was he going to go back on his word?
Or did he think that I would regret breaking up with him two days later like when I was in love?
"That's right. After all, the more I look at you, the more disgusted I feel."
Hearing this, Adam stared at me in disbelief.
"Lora, you win! I dare you to not regret it!"
I checked the time. I had to go to the hospital.
When I was about to turn around and leave, Adam stopped me.
"Wait!"
As Adam tugged at my bag, it fell to the ground, and bits and pieces of things fell out.
I quickly hid the death certificate.
"What are you hiding?"
