The Wife's Pain
From the back cover
“Run!”
I hesitated for a split second, my mind frozen with fear. But the urgency in his voice jolted me into action. I turned to flee, adrenaline surging through my veins as I sprinted down the trail, he close behind.
The ground continued to tremble violently, the very fabric of the mountain unraveling beneath their feet.
My chest pounding; its frantic rhythm matched the chaos surrounding us. I could hear him calling out to me, urging me onward, and yet I felt so scared.
Not for me.
My life meant nothing for me today.
“Don’t look back! Keep going!”
