The Stand-in Mate

I had been in a secret relationship with my brother’s Beta for seven years, and we were supposed to get married.

Following his location, I found the pack gathering and stopped right outside the private hall. Voices slipped through the door, and I froze as I heard them.

“Kaiden Fenwick, your fated mate is back. What are you going to do about that stand-in little sister?”

Kaiden didn’t answer.

The air turned heavy. Then someone laughed. “Bold of you, Kaiden. You really went after Alpha Garrick’s sister. Used her for years… and now Mirella is back.”

My chest tightened at the name.

Mirella.
