The Mermaid My Husband Brought Home Became My Blade
From the back cover
My husband brought home a mermaid and said she was a pet for me to play with. Her tail shimmered with color, but the way she looked at me was the way you'd look at a hunk of dead meat. I smiled. "She's beautiful. What's your name?" She lifted her chin. "Maura." Her voice was cloying, like a knife dipped in honey. After that she was always clinging to my husband, and with one flick of her tail she'd send water splashing all over my face.
