The Alpha’s Second Choice

I was excited for the trip with my husband, Marek Wolfhart, and our daughter Lunara, hoping it would bring us closer as mates.

But on the day we were supposed to leave, Marek suddenly cancelled on us.

I reached out through the mindlink, upset and confused, but he only said, Something came up with the territory, Lyanna. Just go without me, and don’t make a big deal out of this.

Later, while waiting at the port, I scrolled through Instagram and froze at Araminta’s latest post.

Thanks for taking me to paradise, M.

And beside her in the photo stood my mate, Marek.
